Dhakshin and Sanjay won the Advance Men’s Doubles title at the Picklebay Zonals – North, an Indian Pickleball Association (IPA)-sanctioned PWR 700 event, held at Horizon x Courtplay, Gurgaon, on June 27.

The duo defeated Ritesh Jaiswal and Diwakar 11-9, 9-11, 11-7 in a hard-fought final to lift the title after edging a closely contested decider.

Dhakshin and Sanjay had earlier beaten Aditya Pradeep and S Kiran Ashish 15-12 in the semifinal to book their place in the title clash.

Ritesh and Diwakar, meanwhile, advanced to the final after getting the better of Shail Pandya and Samarth Bhardwaj 15-13 in the other semifinal.

The championship match lived up to expectations as both pairs traded games before the contest went the distance. After taking the opening game, Dhakshin and Sanjay saw their opponents level the match by claiming the second. The eventual champions, however, held their composure in the decider, sealing it 11-7 to emerge victorious.

In the final, however, Dhakshin and Sanjay had the last laugh.
