Chennai’s Team16 Pickleball Power Play 2025 continued to produce dazzling rallies and tense finishes, with Sai Samhitha & Vishwajit Tirumurti clinching the Mixed Open Doubles crown after a pulsating 15–11 victory over Surya Kumar & Kamini Boopathy on Saturday, October 4th, 2025.
The final was a blend of finesse and firepower — a match where Sai’s composure and Vishwajit’s explosive shot selection complemented each other perfectly. The duo opened with confidence, breaking into an early lead, but Surya and Kamini clawed back with some exquisite teamwork in the kitchen that kept the crowd on edge.
The game was anticipated to go right down to the wire, but Sai and Vishwajit did not the let the momentum drift away and cashed in on the decisive moments of the game. From there, their rhythm never faltered — Vishwajit’s power game dictated tempo while Sai’s composure under pressure sealed the finishing stretch.

Earlier, the Men’s Doubles Open final had seen Vimal Raj Jayachandran & Sanjay VR overpower Surya Kumar & Abhishek Prasad 15–8, marking a commanding start to the weekend’s championship showdowns.

As Chennai’s newest PWR 200 tournament lit up the courts, the city once again proved its growing status as the pickleball capital of South India — where every rally echoes the sport’s rise, and every final brings fresh heroes to the net.
With more than 250 players registered for the event, the tournament promises to be a humdinger of an event. The men’s singles event leads the way with 42 players battling for glory, while the women’s singles has drawn 8 entries.
With its mix of seasoned campaigners, new faces, and competitive prize money, Team16 Pickleball Power Play 2025 is set to showcase thrilling rallies, upsets, and championship-worthy performances. Chennai’s pickleball community is expected to turn up in big numbers to support the players at the iconic Ice Water Sports Arena on Sunday.
