Safwan A and Ritanyaasri SK Emerge Champions in Mixed Doubles U18 Category at Tamil Nadu State Level Championship Pickleball

Safwan and Ritanyaasri secured the title by winning all three of their matches in the round-robin format. Vir and Ankita took the silver medal, while Kaanav and Kashvi settled for bronze.

Safwan A and Ritanyaasri SK clinched the Mixed Doubles title in the Under-18 category at the 7th Tamil Nadu State Championship Pickleball, an IPA-sanctioned PWR 100 event, at the Picklers Arena in Chennai on Sunday. They secured the title by winning all three of their matches in the round-robin format.

Starting with a thumping 11-0 win over Ishan Gor and Nandita Arun, Safwan and Ritanyaasri defeated Kaanav and Kashvi Jain 11-2 in their second game. In their third and final outing, they beat Vir Mukhi and Ankita Ranjit 11-6 to clinch the title. Vir and Ankita took the silver medal, while Kaanav and Kashvi settled for bronze.

With the IPA Nationals scheduled in October-November, Safwan and Ritanyaasri will benefit immensely from winning the PWR 100 tournament.

The event, held over two weekends — 6th and 7th September, and 13th and 14th September — is a marquee fixture in IPA’s calendar, marking a significant step in pickleball’s rise in southern India.
