In a see-saw battle, Rithika managed to emerge victorious with a 15-14 win over Kamini. In the third-place playoff, Madhuridha prevailed over Chandni 11-9.

Rithika Ramakrishna pipped Kamini Boopathy in a thrilling women’s singles open pro final at the 7th Tamil Nadu State Championship Pickleball, an IPA-sanctioned PWR 100 event, at the Picklers Arena in Chennai on Saturday. In a see-saw battle, Rithika managed to emerge victorious with a 15-14 win over Kamini.

In the semifinal, Rithika beat Madhuridha Rajavel 11-4, while Kamini thrashed Chandni Murali 11-1 in the other last-four clash. In the third-place playoff, Madhuridha prevailed over Chandni 11-9.

Rithika gave a strong account of herself throughout the tournament. Starting off with an 11-0 win over Chandni in a Group A match, she went on to beat Neithra Venkata 11-2.

The event, held over two weekends – 6th and 7th September, and 13th and 14th September – is a marquee fixture in the IPA’s calendar, marking a significant step in pickleball’s rise in southern India.
